Why this is a big season for Gibbs
Arsene Wenger says that Kieran Gibbs is not injury prone- but I have say that I am not really convinced after the young left-back’s latest injury.

I have very high hopes for the young Englishman.

He is very composed and a solid professional too.

He defends well and he knows when to attack.

He seems to have everything that you would expect from a left back.

Arsenal’s Academy and Arsenal in general seem to have been blessed in the left-back position for years.

We have had Kenny Samson, Nigel Winterburn, Sylvinho, Ashley Cole and Gael Clichy. Gibbs seems to be the latest product of the Arsenal Academy ready to take it to the next level.

The only problem is that he has been injured too much - he has made only 15 appearances over the past two seasons and that is not enough for a 21-year old.

At his age, he must be playing regularly to develop and I think Wenger is more than ready to accommodate him in the squad. Had he been injury free Wenger would have rotated him a lot with Clichy , who has been a bit under-par lately.

This is a big season for Gibbs as at the age of 21 you want to really break in the team and I think he will fulfill his potential but only if he does not get injured so often.
