I decided a couple of years ago to stop watching Match of the Day.
Watching Alan Hansen blabbering about like he is some sort of intellectual always infuriated me.
He is of course the man who regularly told Britain how Henry was a "good but not great player" . Henry according to this great thinker could not score with his head or score in great games - even though I recall him scoring quite regularly against Man Utd , Liverpool or Spurs.
Of course, Hansen also told us how our unbeaten season did not mean anything as we could not win back-to-back titles.
More recently he is telling us at the beginning of every season how he sees us struggling to finish in the Top 4. This is despite the evidence that we have finished in the Top 4 for the past 14 years.
I did not watch Match of the Day again tonight but I read on Arsenal Opinion http://arsenal-opinion.com/2010/11/11/match-of-the-day-you-are-a-joke that we were cruficified again.
It is not a real surprise though is it ?
The program is fronted by Gary Lineker , an ex-Spurs man. I have read somewhere that the Head of Sports at the BBC is a Spurs fan. And obviously Hansen hates us not because of his Liverpool connections (most Liverpool fans I know respect Arsenal and the respect is mutual).
Hansen though is a big fan of his Scottish pal Fergie and having a go at Arsenal is what he does best.
Arsenal Opinion is right to say that Match of the Day is a joke. And keeping away from such rubbish is usually the best thing to do.
