Arsenal - Wolves Player Ratings

Player Ratings are a bit more difficult when you are at the stadium as opposed to having the benefit of the replays but here is how I rate our boys:

Szczesny 6 Nothing major to do apart from a few routine catches.


Clichy 6 Did not attack as much as usual but I think this was part of his instructions. Stuck to his defensive duties well.

Djourou 7 We definitely need him fit if we are to win something this season. Strong and reliable.


Koscielny 7 Laurent Blanc says that Wenger sees him as the future of French football and the more I see him , the more I like him. His reading of the game is excellent.

Sagna 6.5 Really has everything you want in a full-back : committed, good in defence and of course a fantastic crosser of the ball.

Arshavin 7 Worked hard all day.  Won the applause of the crowd several times when he tracked back to break Wolves attacks. Getting back to his best and do not forget that an in-form Arshavin is one of the deadliest finishers in the Premier League.

Song 8 Man-mountain in midfield. He tore the Wolves midfield  into pieces and the difference is clear when he is in the side.


Fabregas 7.5 Still a class act although I think he was saving himself for the big one on Wednesday.  Could have scored and stretched Wolves with his movement and passing. 

Wilshere 8.5 His best game ever. Looks to have a bit of everything and he made a couple of superb runs when he dribbled around the Wolves midfield. Offered Walcott an unmissable chance in the second half.

Walcott 7.5 Assisted for the van Persie goal and was always dangerous as his pace troubled the Wolves defence. But he was also guilty of missing a couple of clear chances, including the one set up by Wilshere.


van Persie 8.5 Easily our best striker at the club and scored two cool goals. Has 12 goals in 12 starts this season and has scored an incredible 11 goals in his last 9 matches. If he stays fit, he could be a late contender for the Premier League leading goal scorer this season.
