AA AT THE EMIRATES STADIUM:
Much of the talk before the game surrounded again about our supposed "lack of character" because of the Newcastle draw (none of the match previews seem to have mentionned that we played with 10 men or conceded two very dubious penalties).
But the lads seem very focussed from the start.
My cousin Rob and I arrive at the Emirates at 2.45. We were desperate to know the result in Manchester but none of the people in our row knew the score either.
Wolves started the game with a lot of confidence and took the game to us.
In fact, I would say that the first 15 minutes was all Wolves. Rob was getting nervous but I thought that the lads were instructed to play a patient game this time.
And van Persie duly silenced the confident Wolves fans with a superb volley from a Fabregas cross.
From then on, it was all Arsenal. Jack Wilshere was particularly impressive. He beautifully directed the operations in midfield.
He made two sensational runs which would have been goals of the seasons had he shoot rather than pass. Goals will come for him next season.
Arshavin was working very hard and helped the defence a lot.
I thought that the ref was very poor and Rob told me if it is still 1-0 with 20 minutes to go , he will give a penalty to them.
But luckily van Persie's deadly form continued when he finished brilliantly from a Walcott pass.
We could have scored four more but a clean sheet was more important.
This was a huge win as United had gone seven points clear earlier.
And Wolves are a lot better than people think. They are tough and also have some excellent movement when they attack. You could see why United struggle against them.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day as we keep the pressure on United.
