The truth about the Telegraph trophy drought

The truth about the Telegraph trophy drought
The notoriously anti-Arsenal paper the Telegraph predictably had a big feature about "all the English clubs which have won a trophy since Arsenal last won something" on Monday.

The story was actually disguised with big images to cover the fact that ONLY FIVE CLUBS have won a trophy over the last five years.

Being the Telegraph, you expect them to be slightly dishonest and a lot xenophobic anyway but putting Chelsea and United twice showed that their favourite tune lacked substance.

They also included Liverpool´s Champions League trophy but fail to mention that we did win the FA Cup that year. It also fails to mention that another cup winner is now languishing in the bottom half of the Championship and went through bankruptcy (Portsmouth).

Just in case one of their journalists happen to surf the net for real information, I have done a bit of research for them to get the list of English Premier League clubs without a trophy since five years:

Liverpool: 5years
Arsenal: 6 years
Aston Villa: 14 years
Everton: 16 years
Manchester City: 35 years
Newcastle: 46 years
Sunderland: 38 years
West Ham: 31 years
Bolton: 53 years
Stoke : 41 years
Fulham. no major trophy won
Blackburn: 9 years
Blackpool: 58 years
WBA: 43 years
Wolves: 31 years
Wigan: no major trophy won

I know the Telegraph are obsessed for some reason with our French manager Arsene Wenger but I demand to know why the no-trophy jibe is only made against Arsenal.
