It was a very good performance at Stamford Bridge but unfortunately Chelsea proved to be more efficient than us at decisive moments of the game (just before half time and just before the end of the game)

PLAYER RATINGS


Fabianski (6.5) Another encouraging performance from the Pole. Made some crucial saves in the second half and apart from a mistake in the 1st half, he could not be blamed for either goal.

Sagna (7) Defended well and was a real threat going forward.

Koscielny  (6.5) Was solid throughout the game and did well against Drogba for most stages of the game.

Squillaci (5.5) I have been impressed by him so far but did not have the best of games yesterday. Could have done better for the first goal and was beaten up for pace several times in the second half.

Clichy (6) Was good going forward as usual but faded in the last 20 minutes or so.

Song (6) Has not been as good as last season this time around. Last season he was mainly keeping things simple but this season seems to want added responsibility like dribbling and scoring (which is a good thing but I think it is a side of him that needs to be improved).

Wilshere (6.5) The game passed him by in the first half but grew in stature in the 2nd half. I thought that replacing him was a mistake as he was pulling the strings in midfield at that time.

Nasri (7.5) Lead the team brilliantly and can be considered unlucky to be on the losing side. Created chances after chances and could have scored himself.


Arshavin (6.5) I had the feeling that he would be the man if we were to score and he went close several times. He is certainly a big game player but cannot be relied on to perform defensive duties.


Diaby (4) A massive disappointment. Was strangely lined up as the support player to Chamakh but his lack of effort baffled me. For the first goal , he was walking casually on the pitch and refused to come back to help constantly during the game. Is very scared to go in physical confrontations which is shocking considering his size.


Chamakh (6) Worked very hard up front but seldom look like scoring when presented with some good chances
