Arsenal won without key trio

Arsenal won without key trio
Any win over Manchester United is really a great moment for any Arsenal fan.

Ever more so if it is a win that could dent their title hopes this season.

After all the pain they have inflicted us over the years, I really have no sympathy for their penalty claim or the Kalou goal over Spurs on Saturday.

I also have no time for some Arsenal ¨fans¨ who think that winning was not positive for the club

How could you be an Arsenal fan and not rejoice in this superb win ( our only third win over the past two months)

And I will not even talk about a notorious ¨Arsenal¨ site which suspiciously stays silent after every Arsenal win. The said writer has been demanding Wenger’s exit for years now, so perhaps there is no real surprise.

Anyway, I am absolutely delighted to see us getting back to winning ways.

It was a particularly impressive win and one achieved in the second half without our main men namely Vermaelen, Fabregas and Nasri.

The fact that Ramsey got the winning goal was just the cherry on the cake for me.

He showed his mettle by being given the responsibility of deputizing for Fabregas against the league leaders and probable Champions League finalists.

I thought he was a bit overawed initially and lost the ball a couple of times and fluffed a chance wide.

But the turning point for Ramsey was on the 31st minute with the Vidic red card/penalty  incident.

Having previously given away the ball to Rooney, he tracked back brilliantly and closed Rooney down and won the ball. He then linked up with van Persie and played a cool ball to Walcott whose cross was brilliantly tipped away by Vidic.

Ramsey immediately started to exert his influence on the game and scored a classy goal when set up by van Persie.

Ramsey and Wilshere could form a brilliant midfield partnership for Arsenal in years to come. We just need to save him against Pulis bruisers next week though.

It was great to see us hold on to a lead and of course it shows that this was really our season to win the league.

With an ageing Manchester United side, a Chelsea side which went in a two month crisis, a City side in transition and with Spurs being Spurs, we would have won this season at a canter had we taken our chances.

Having said that, we did play a lot better without the pressure of the last few weeks and I am sure we would have been a lot more edgy had we won against Bolton.

It is still a great moment of our season and we have now beaten Chelsea, United and Barcelona at home this season. May be it will give the lads a boost of confidence for next season that they can beat the big sides now ?

A great week end was even made better with our little neighbours getting knocked off the fifth place by Liverpool.

Was I dreaming or did tabloid hero Dirty Harry not claim that his side will win the league this season? I am yet to see him being ridiculed by the media for his boasts and how hilarious would it be to see Spurs fail to get even the Europa spot next season ?!
