How Arsenal lined up last season and how we are tonight...
.... and the reasons to be optimistic. Gunners everywhere must be confident that the team that will line up tonight will be a lot better than the one of last season.

Gallas (replaced by Denilson at half-time after being rushed to first team)

ARSENAL-BARCELONA FEBRUARY 2011 LIKELY LINE-UP:

Szczesny
Eboue
Djourou
Koscielny
Clichy
Song
Wilshere
Fabregas
Walcott
Nasri
van Persie

Where we are better?

van Persie is a definite improvement on Bendtner.
Wilshere is a lot more complete than Diaby.
Szczesny is arguably better than Alumnia.
Gallas was injured and not fit to start the game.
Song and Nasri (if fit) are a lot better this season.
Walcott is an improvement on Eboue at right wing.
Song had to be moved at central defence at half time, with Denilson taking his place in the midfield.

So there you go ! Barcelona will argue they are better than last season too( see totalBarca interview ) but circumstances were not in our favour in that game.
