There comes a point in life when you need to take a good look at yourself and see where you can improve.
This website will never call for Arsene´s head and his record is still very good with us ( even if you somehow want to judge him on the past five years only).
But after you have gone so long without a trophy, time has come for Arsene to decide where he has gone wrong and what can be done to remedy the situation. These are some areas he need to reconsider:
Stop with the blind youth project
Once in a while there will be a Fabregas, a Wilshere, a Rooney or a Messi- a kind of precocius talent that the club need to make a move quickly even if they are only 15.
But buying youngsters from around the world blindly, giving them good contracts, sending them on loan for two years and then try to sell them at a profit should not be Arsenal´s policy anymore.
Arsene is 62 this year and he is unlikely to be here if he buys a 15-year old kid who may or may not come good in six years .
Buy players with Premiership experience
Does not necessarily have to be English players but we need players who will adapt quickly to the team.
Arsene said he would do that last year but in the end bought 3 French players ( Squillaci, Koscielny and Chamakh - also born in France).
Squillaci proves that even experience abroad is not a guarantee to quick adaptation to the pace and power of English football.
Get rid of the deadwood
The omens are not good if you have still not proved yourself when you have been at a club for over five years. Time to cut your losses on the likes of Almunia, Fabianski, Denilson, Eboue, Vela and Diaby.
Chill out
Chill out
Don´t be so nervous on the touchline, Arsene. It is unlikely to do your players any good and it is not good for the image of the club. When the opposition sees that you are nervous, they think that they have a chance.
Get Rice to do some interviews
Arsene Wenger gets too emotional after bad results. Journalists love to goad him in making mistakes and he often falls into their trap. The headlines always come out all wrong.
Get Pat Rice or one of the other assistants to do some interviews - Man United (Phelan), Chelsea (with Wilkins previously) Manchester City (Platt and Kidd) all do it, so why can´t we?
