It´s over

It´s over
Arsene Wenger said before the game that the players needed to be calm and relaxed in order to win the league.

Well, calm and relaxed they were.

They just walked around with no sense of urgency, seemingly unaware that our title chances depended on a win tonight.

Manchester United stormed back from 2-0 down at West Ham to win 4-2.

There was nothing of this here.

The players were just too calmed and too relaxed for their own good.

No real pressure , no real fight  and no real drive.

Only when Fabregas came on that we started to open Blackburn up.

But even then there was another period of “calmness” before a semblance of onslaught in the last five minutes.

Still not enough to trouble a Blackburn side who has been in poor form ever since Allardyce left them.

Let us face it: if you can´t beat 10-men Blackburn at home, there is no way that you are going to win the title.

I would love to keep on believing and I will be the first one to put my hands up if we ever manage to win this league.

But after what we have seen against Sunderland, West Brom and Blackburn in three relatively “easy” games, do we really expect this Arsenal side to somehow turn up the screw with games against Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs coming?

What a limp way to bow off the title race.

May be Arsene should be the one who was doing the relaxing. He was a bag of nerves tonight and I hate to see our manager like that. Calm down Arsene.

The players are too calm as they are. What they need is a big injection of passion and fire in the belly in order to salvage something from this season.

If not Arsene, I am afraid it´s over mon ami.
